    A friend of mine (we're in our 40s) unthinkingly crowed "I grew up on your movies!" at Andrew McCarthy a few years ago. He tried to take this in stride but I believe this brutal reminder of his age and diminished attractiveness might have been what put him in rehab.
    Poor Blaine...

    @saythatscool: Yes, he was a regular there in the '80s. It wasn't the best place in the world, but I liked the secret Barrow St. entrance, and it has sentimental value.

    @Sproing: I was around 10 when that movie came out and boy did it set me up for a world of disappointment. I thought high school was going to be filled with AWESOME guys like Blaine and Steff and lots of making out in the stables kissing in BMW's. The only thing that Andy and I ended up having in common was a love of maudlin British pop music and an alcoholic dad.
