    As an ardent fan of Mr. Show (specifically season 4) I have always been under the impression that since the writing was so creative and ingenious, namely the way they transitioned between skits (unlike the horribly awkward way SNL ends theirs with lame repeat and fades, etc) and the humor was so multi-faceted, that the writers must have all been on some awesome hallucinogens together at writing meetings.

    In 2001, I was at a David Cross "concert" (is that what you call it? "Stand-up gig"? whateva) and at the end of the show I asked him if they ever tripped during writing sessions, and he answered with some winding trying-to-be-existential answer, which I took as a hearty yes.. Being 27 at the time I was elated to find that I called it ;[] #cocaine
