Watchmen won't make money then disappear. It'll continually churn out a couple million every day for a while and the curious crowds finally find a day to go see it. I think it'll do well overall. And the DVD sales will be astronomical because everyone will want to own this.
Dark Knight appealed to teens and high schoolers, but Watchmen appeals to University kids and early adults, who have busy lives.

Nice attempt to try and degrade the success of one film and justify your support of a less-successful one by proclaiming the superiority of your faction. I guess that's why Sally Jupiter has built in erect nipples and slow motion fight scenes, for all you grownups.

So that being said Dark Knight did great on an opening weekend, bolstered by LEdger's great performance and ultimately energized by his death. If you don't believe that the "role that ended his life" made a difference in sales to teenies, you're an idiot.
Frankly, I liked the Dark Knight, but didn't go gaga over it. It was a good, solid movie. Something I expect from the Watchmen as well. Nothing fantastic.

In conclusion, when you grow the eff up, you see movies when you can, not when you and your buddies are spending a day at the mall, and get bored of hanging around the Hot Topic.

Also, business has been really steady throughout the week, with around $3 in ticket sales everyday.
Also, no matter how much the movie makes, the screenwriter will never get a single cent past what he was originally paid. He totes said this too in this article, but of course we wouldn't want to print that, right?

From its very inception, Watchmen has been marketed specifically to please the fans of the book first and foremost. The marketing never explains the plot, the charchters, or even the tone or themes of the material, in an effort stay faithful to the source material. While this plan might have worked, to a point, I think that overall this is going to be a slow burn at the box office...

I'll just get my Patrick Wilson fix with my couch, some lotion, and Lakeview Terrace on Blu-ray.
