Is Jeckyl & Hyde still open? Their food sucked just as bad, but they had that whole 200-beer selection going for them. Plus the snarky skeletons who called your mother-in-law old and fat before wishing her a happy birthday. Also did I mention the 200 beers?

Amazing how there's only 50 governors in all of the USA, and I can name at least five that had some sort of shameful bullshit scandal attached to them. 1/10th!

(ftw: Foster, no shit? You a fellow UNLV alum?) :[]

@lobstr: Ha, no! I was born/raised Vegas, but swear allegiance to the Rebels basketball. I was there for the 1990 team's win against Duke, and their consequent fall after people were on to the fact that they were basically a paid NBA team (Stacey Augmon, George Ackles, Larry Johnson, etc.).

@Foster Kamer: Yessir.. I was there in '93 at the tail end of Tarkanian.. JR (neé Isaiah) Rider was in my Poly Sci class :o, was front & center (i.e. Bally's parking lot) when the Dunes was 'ploded, etc.

yah, thems was good times to be in that city, and it's sad to see almost all of the old classic hotels gone.. at least I have my glass ash tray collection from back when they printed hotel logos on 'em ;D

@lobstr: HA. JR Rider had the best NBA career ev-ar. He played for like, six shitty years and then was benched for a season while the Lakers won a championship. And then retired. Love it.

Best line ever from the R-Patz article: ""I worked on Gossip Girl with guys like Penn Badgely. We’d go out after work and play beer pong. Nobody would bother them. There’s no way Rob can do that. He’d be mobbed.""
If this isn't a desperate cry for help from Penn's publicist, I don't know what is.

Pattinson is British, worst tippers second only to Germans. It's in his DNA.
As for Arquette, what's 'nuts" is that a) they are doing a 4th Scream movie and 2) someone gave him a job.

@secretagentman: Yeah, what the fuck is that? Come in British people, please explain why you don't tip and why you have to have a mandatory 15% service charge and your service sucks.

@secretagentman: I just moved back the US from Germany and they are lovely people. However, Germans don't tip; they round up to the dollar. They don't understand the concept of tipping, much like sarcasm.

@FroderickFronkensteen: those poor bastards are forced to live in a country where waitstaff make a living wage and everyone has health coverage. one day, they'll come to their senses and decide to live on begging, while dying of some curable diseases.
but being a brit is no excuse, it isn't a mystery how tipping works, kneecap the jerk.

@FroderickFronkensteen: Yes, they don't do sarcasm very well, but that's just to be expected from a culture that defines irony as being a "constant alternation between self-creation and self-destruction."

@secretagentman: The question of tipping was criticized in Germany in 1882 by an expert on Roman and European civil law, Rudolf von Jhering. He said that waiters are, in essence, transport workers who transport food from the kitchen to the customers, and should thus not be forced to beg for alms when it's agreed upon that other transport workers -- like dockworkers -- should be legally entitled to payment for their services. Having employees that don't have the right to sue in court for payment is not consistent with historical Roman and European civil law principles. That pretty much was the end of the debate in Germany.
