THANK YOU for taking note of Lynne's facelift on RHOC. The editing from Bravo is priceless, as they find every blank stare of hers and turn it into instant laughs.
Also, cheers to Andy Cohen for having a "face reveal" during his "Watch What Happens" show last night. I never watch it, but in the preview before it, he had Lynne holding a mask over her face before the big reveal. Loved it.
-What happened to Jezebel's wrap of the week's 10 tv clips you might have missed?
-Why aren't these videos embeeded into this post? Are you trying to generate more page hits by having people click through the link to the earlier video posting?
@Senator Sully: 1. Jezebel's wrap up is great and will remain as is. This is post is just to highlight some of the cool things you might have missed on Gawker.TV
2. Loading 5 videos on the page slows down the loading time of the page a lot, and it doesn't look that great. And yes of course we hope you click through and become a fan of Gawker.TV :)
@Senator Sully: Not to piggyback on Blakeley's comment, but I think you may be wondering why the "10 Things You May Have Missed on TV This Week" post hasn't been around for a couple of weeks. And while this is just my best guess and not any sort of "official" answer, it's probably because Tracie recently got married and is taking a bit of time off.
@Richard Blakeley: Thanks for the explanation! In other posts (like PR or Real Housewives reviews), they all load directly from post, but I get what you're saying. And I do like Gawker.TV.
@Matt Cherette: Thanks, yeah, I had noticed "10 Things..." had been missing the past couple of Fridays, didn't know if that's because it was getting folded into Gawker.TV. Maze tov to Tracie.
I really hope the kid's fifteen minutes can go another five for the sake of everyone so invested, but I don't find the fact that he'll be on a show partially-owned by Barbara Walters to promote a Barbara Walters-owned, Barbara Walters Special, all that surprising.
@GlasgowRose: Yes. And the boss on Parks and Rec. (the guy with the moustache) is married to "Karen" from "Will and Grace" (forget her name at the moment) if you didn't know already.
Will they allow Gay-berace to speak on the view and take on Elizabitch? (I'm sure she's got something against men's crotches...) Or will Lamebert just sing and promote his new album?
And GLAAD, go get fucked. Seriously. You've been sitting on the fence for FAR too long, too many slurs by famous (and infamous celebutards) have been said, and you've run like a little school girl to the principal's office to hide under his desk. Seriously, man up GLAAD. Man up.
@Cynner: Yes, seriously, to tout an appearance on the View; the show so anti-gay that they allowed Hasseldreck & FlatEarth Sherry to use it as a platform, repeatedly, to lobby for Prop 8, (and still lobby against civil rights whenever they can work it in), is not a coup worth touting.
Getting Hasselbeck fired, now THAT would be a coup worth touting.
Lambert seriously strikes me as attempting to be "spokesperson of the gheighs", when in fact he seems to me to be the least attractive candidate for this position. It seems that he can't decide which way to play his sexuality so that it gets the most publicity. Then when he hears "gay it up a little" from the blogs, he interprets that as "face-hump a dude on a network television awards show and piss off a whole bunch of people". Go away, please, Adam, you're making the rest of us look like fameballing twatwaffles by association.

@seyswho: I don't think he's trying to be a spokesperson for gays. He's trying to become a popular performer who is also gay. And that's precisely why GLAAD isn't mounting a stronger defense. They want him to be more political.
He's not acting as a group advocate but as a group member. Instead of message points, he wants the freedom to express himself however he wants. Of course, that's the stated goal of gay equality, so in the long-term, he's doing more for gays than GLAAD. But now, he seems politically awkward and embarrassing.
@FlowChart: Good points, that makes a lot of sense. It just seems like he can't find his sexuality "groove" - like he's trying too hard to be liked by everyone (when that will never happen), and in turn he's creating the exact opposite effect. Of course, really, all of this would probably be a moot point if he could just sing and perform worth a damn.
@Lysergic Asset: Are all us gays obligated to watch that show now that GLAAD got him on (or whatever they did ... or more likely didn't do)?
Damn. Guess that means I have to go out and buy a TV now. Being a gay is so hard!
PS - If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Glambert for that one, even though Hasselbeck did eat nothing but algae and lillypads in Australia for a month a few years ago.

@Nigerian Business Executive: Ha! As a not gay ("straight but not narrow") woman, I don't know about the gay obligation factor. I think it's a lot of pressure to put on someone so relatively young and emotionally volatile: Adam Lambert, you are hereby anointed the herald of the homos... it's a really delicate balancing act. I hope he pulls it off.
Also: I could not possibly think any less of Hasselbeck, so I hope he wipes the floor with her and her retro 1950's housewife prejudices.
@Lysergic Asset: It is my firm opinion that nothing is worth watching Elisabeth Hasselbeck unless she's being pelted with rotten vegetables. I might tune in for that. Might.
@Lucky: To me, the only satisfaction would be like an opposite version of The Manchurian Candidate: to turn a mindless, programmed drone into a smart, decent person.
@Lysergic Asset: While that would be satisfactory, it's a satisfaction neither one of us is likely to ever experience. So I say bring on the broccoli! Obviously you're much nicer than I am.
Well, Tina Fey was on the mainstage at Second City in Chicago before she was hired as a writer for SNL. Normally writers get hired because their performance experience is exceptional.
@kelsey.imean.dustin: 1) Good catch and 2) Nah, I don't think too many other people got it. Is "30 Rock" big in the Tagalog community or do they have one Tagalog write on their staff?
But I like your slight amazement that no one else understand tagalog slang.
@kelsey.imean.dustin: If that was intentional, it was a pretty outre joke, because according to a quick IM from my Tagalog-speaking cousin, 'egot' is not exactly a nice word for Af-Am men.
@kelsey.imean.dustin: Ay nako . . . I can't ever imagine the 30 Rock writers even realizing that "egot" is a seriously God-awful, politically incorrect word in Tagalog. Tagalog isn't exactly a romance language, you know? I'm old and a Miami Vice fan and I remember Philip Michael Thomas in an Entertainment Tonight interview in the '80s showing off that crass E.G.O.T. necklace charm and looking like a complete dickweed explaining its meaning. The bottom line is that 30 Rock was simply making fun of Philip Michael Thomas and not at all using the Filipino language for evil.
@sparklyharempants: That's 'coz you're either not an old like me, or you had more of a life in the 80's and Miami Vice and Entertainment Tonight dickweed interviews just didn't blip your radar . . . ;oD
