Until that kind of choice is possible...

It's totally possible, at least from a delivery perspective. Run the 22-minute episodes on TV, and offer those plus longer, "enhanced" versions on Hulu. It would mean more work on the production end, but it might also be a useful way to find out more about what the audience wants.

I think Pam gave up graphic design because its nothing like the idea she had of being an artist. She likes drawing and her fine society club, not graphics made on a computer.

I suggest an episode starring Mystery where Andy tries to get Angela into the sack and Dwight surprises everyone with the best opener in history, thereby scoring tons of bleach-blonde nightclub bikini models.

Ok I tried giving this another chance last week...and the stupidity of couples all over the place was just too much. Seriously? The beet farm wedding idea? That was just stupid. This show has seriously turned into shit. Pam and Jim are insufferable. Michael is a cartoon of his former self. Dwight is just a fucking freak now instead of the weird, yet functional and normal guy he used to be. Horrible.

@apocalypse-nowish: Seriously. What I loved about the show was that while they were all freaks--everyone was within the realm of REAL. I even didn't like that they had Kelly mess with their reports because she was mad about a cup. That's just retarded. You know? It used to toe a fine line between the realistic and the ridiculous. Now it's just always ridiculous.

@apocalypse-nowish: Weird I know, but Angela is secretly my favorite character- prim repression is funny. But the last few i've seen she hasn't been around much. (Didn't see the last one.)

I'm just sort of bored with the show, that's all. Maybe a humorous examination of the tedium of office life has a natural shelf life, it can only go on so far before outlandishness sets in. Baby sharks in the water cooler...

although i will agree about coupling. the best way i can think of to describe this is as follows:

[quality of british coupling, minus the season without jeff]/[quality of american coupling] = infinity

@GirlyWhirl: This position was defensible the first season. But by now, it's just nonsensical.

The first season of the US show wasn't very good, because it basically rehashed the UK show. But now, the US version has developed on it's own, and is now very different from the original. It's not just a remake any more.

Alex - even though NBC got rid of their "super-sized" concept (episodes longer than the usual 22 minutes, 30 with ads) recently, I'd bet they'll make a return. Last-place NBC's the only network doing any sort of broadcast innovation nowadays - namely, their investment in Hulu and making eps available online. Super-sized episodes of their most popular, buzzed-about programs can only help.

Plus Pam and Liz Lemon really need to be on TV more.

Once Ben Silverman gets fired (by being promoted, as always), the next guy to eventually crash and burn as the head of NBC entertainment can re-implement the supersize thing. He or she can also cut back on the fucking product placement, Silverman's love. That day cannot come soon enough.
