@pot-pourri: A valid point about gallows humor, but in this case it sounds like a lot of mindless schadenfraude enthusiasts making the same (obvious and unfunny) joke over and over again. Sorry if I offended your delicate sesibilities by calling some of you dumbasses; it's the verbal equivalent of an eye roll, get over it. An entire staff of people are losing their jobs, some of them have worked there for years; as someone else pointed out, DNR's been in print for over a century. It's just not that funny.

I figure that the death of magazines will make surviving copies of them the valuable collectibles of the future. So I am taking my retirement funds out of the stock market and investing in magazines. My business plan is to sell them on eBay when I turn 65. Am I the first to come up with this brilliant idea?

My irritating ex saved last copies of defunct magazines...of course, he had worked at most of them, but I believe he thought they would attain "collector's item" status.
He is kind of an idiot.
