Thanks for the shout out Richard! Oh and not to get too libel here but Penn's had issues in the past with drinking and possibly more but he is much smarter about keeping it in the closet, than say LiLo is.

I bumped into Sean Penn walking on the beach once. Or should I say, a booze-wreaking, homeless-looking, clearly hungover Sean Penn bumped into me.

Never heard about a drug problem of any sort, but he's always been a pretty serious drinker--prefering old-fashioned spirits rather than white-wine swilling--which has been detailed in plenty of new journo-style profiles.

@Swordfish: he's one of the more open yayo yo-yo'ers out there. SF'ers wander into his late-night coke-fueled political conversations the way that NY'ers bump into Ethan Hawk walking his dogs or Chris Noth walking his liver.

Getting out of that Three Stooges thing suggests Penn has in fact stopped doing drugs...

Addictive behavior in the Penn family? No way.

One problem may have led to the other.
