    I resent the first line of this article, "Black people(so demanding!)...". You do have some Black readers, Gawker, and right there you just put us in a little box as if we all are behind whatever Sharpton does. Whatever sarcasm was intended did not work for me.

    And I agree with above comment.

    @JustGiveMeThePinkOne: I think that presumed boxing in what makes the sarcasm work.

    @JustGiveMeThePinkOne:

    I read the "(so demanding!)" as pure sarcasm on Hamilton's part.

    I already chided him this morning for snarking on what seemed to be a perfectly reasonable policy in Jamaica to clean up the airwaves.

    Gawker, I know you're just trying to help. But I don't think it is productive to say this was just offensive to black New Yorkers. This was stupid and offensive to anyone who cares about civil discourse in American culture.

    @Hamilton Nolan: Yes, but the "Fuck You" would be directed to anyone who isn't down with their asshol-ish cause. Which, I dare say, might include some non-black New Yorkers.

    The irony here is tht the Post once was a liberal Jewish daily and much beloved among NY activists.

    The cartoon was racist pure and simple. The editor needs to be sent back to a richly deserved retirement where the women glow and men like him chunder.

    @Weegee's bored: That's overkill. It's a mistake but all men at work make them.

    Maybe we could just call it even if Sharpton got to write the Post's headlines for a week or two.

    The post may have to invest in some steam control.

    Rupert isn't racist; the only color he cares about is green. He'll do whatever he needs to do to make money; he's already proved that by sucking up to Chinese dictators.
