Here down under, when Xmas day can be 35degrees celcius, it's icy chilled champagne cocktails all round!

I'll head to the Quick-pak store for a box of tampons and some Marlboro Lights.

I wouldn't do that to an innocent person. I do, however, hope to have the recipe available soon.

In any event:
For each drink, mix the following in a shaker and serve up:
1 oz choco-tequila*
1/2 oz each: half-and-half, kahlua, and Bailey's caramel
then sprinkle the top with a mixture of cayenne and sugar
*More or less a pint of at least decent-quality tequila of at least decent quality infused with one pound of dark chocolate in one-ounce squares and left for about 5-7 days. The chocolate will be inedible after this.
As for Bad Santa, we own a copy.

Swapping recipes in a Gawker comment thread? It's a Christmas miracle!

We're waiting for Navidad, but the friend who made it for us has tried her own batch and called it good. One could argue mezcal might add greater depth (and there are some mezcal-based cream liqueurs sold in Oaxaca).
But rest assured, there is no incorrect Mexican liquor, excepting that which you don't have on hand.

1) hot chocolate + peppermint schnapps
2) eggnog (which i am thinking of putting BOURBON instead of rum)
3) mulled wine
4) experimenting further with a drink i tried to create last year which would involve peppermint schnapps, fox's u-bet, milk, and club soda (? maybe club soda?)
5) create a "mulled manhattan" (inspired by a terrible ny times article bitching about mulled wine)
what do i do? there are varying degrees of difficulty involved here with each option obviously. i mean i could just crack a presidente instead.

#4 - change it to seltzer from Club Soda - too salty. You're making a NY egg cream plus the schnapps - very nice!

I don't know about Brookstone, but you can go to men's furnishings areas of department stores and find them, or souvenir/gift mall places like Things Remembered. Or just get some cheap skullpop that comes in a plastic "travel" flask size.

I envy you at the moment... it's minus 30 and 5 inches of snow where I am.

This reminds me of a sad, sad New Year's Eve I spent in college in which I combined store-bought eggnog and canned oysters.
I didn't realize you could vomit through the nose.
