    I am a total hater; these portraits are god awful! Can no one paint anymore? They've got enough money. It's obvious that the poor painter has had to work from a photograph--couldn't they have gotten a better photograph? One where people aren't wearing their sunglasses?


    This looks like something I painted in highschool and now hangs in my parent's basement.

    @tammyfey: Nothing says "I've been to Europe" like a limoncello on ice. It is to the 00s what a gnarly-ass bottle of ouzo was the to the 70s.

    Oh, I guess you need to read the article:


    "Ms. Winkler, though, had a different reaction to a portrait recently painted by a friend, Maxine Smith, who like Ms. Perenchio is the wife of a successful media executive, Gary Smith."


    So if this is a trend among the hollywood effete® one would imagine there's a lot of putting up and taking down of paintings before the guests arrive each time.

    I'm gonna cut him some slack because we have amassed a collection of friends' (who shall remain unnamed) artwork they have given us. It is vital that we keep it on the walls for when they come. Strangely, after years of effusive compliments lavished on the artists, they are growing on me.


    But then again maybe he just has bad taste.
