Can we please stop the madness. Electric cars are more efficient than their internal combustion counterparts, but you are just creating another use for electricity. The Law of Conservation of Energy applies. This puts a strain on power plants. If people are really serious about energy conservation they need to figure out a better way to move people around. The concept of vehicles is simply not efficient.
@ChillbearLatrigue: Yes. Bicycles, walking and mass transit. And a way to reverse sprawl. And the money and motivation to make these more viable than cars.
@ChillbearLatrigue: One idea would be to invest in our national infrastructure to help cities build transportation systems and create bike paths and walkways. But as I understand it, we now call this concept "European-style Socialism." So, scratch that idea.
@Astroblack: I'm certainly not a proponent of bankrupting the economy to lay sidewalk and as far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out on anthropogenic global warming, but it's pretty apparent that we can not sustain the status quo indefinitely.
