You leave my Elvis alone! His chat show was perfectly fine, if a little precious and indulgent. And I've always liked the hats. He's not 25 (or angry) anymore, let the man act his age.
(Yes, I'm one of those Elvis freaks who has seen him 20 times and even likes the jazz and classical stuff, etc.)
I've had the misfortune of watching a lot of Morning Joe lately, and I just really, really don't get why Scarborough even registers. To me, Joe is the consummate high school jock (who peaked circa 1982), tells outmoded, self-centered stories (as if pissing in Mrs. Pratt's begonias after chugging a whole Bud Light is a scintillating story), and knows he can get by on his look and flash of smile and well-coiffed hair (Ted Danson) while his cohorts preen and fawn for his smug notice.
When I try to make it past the sheen and actually listen to him, all he does is tell everyone else that they are wrong. I mean, if he had any depth of thought and any talent beyond being a blowhard, he would be in government yet, no?
@meechybee: He served a term or two in the House. Although it's sort of weird that you're implying depth of thought and talent are qualities one would expect from someone in government. [putthatshitonthelist.blogspot.com]
I've been subjecting myself to watching his sorry case of a show and feel saddened how he now relies heavily on The Roots for laughs and entertainment instead of actually being funny.
Watching Jeremy Piven's drum duel with ?uestlove last night was awkward.
Jimmy Fallon is golden retriever-like in his loopy enthusiasm for everything. If Joe had suddenly yanked his pants down and announced he wanted to take a dump, Fallon would have gushed, "This is so exciting!"
