    I guess I don't understand it, since everyone I know on FB already has the name they want, or some pretty close variant. I don't recall seeing the hysteria about getting the best gmail address a few years ago, even though that was very real. And since FB uses real name searching if you choose, it's not like you won't be able to find a person (unlike email, where it's more imperative to have an easy-to-remember-and-type addy).
