So Fox Sports (and it's related cable networks), Fox Broadcasting, 20th Century Fox, Sky TV, FX, Fox Movie Channel, etc, etc., etc. all fell behind Fox News?
Remote work options are a great way to save fuel and help the environment. People that don't have adequate facilities at home (private work space and reliable internet) should be given the option to work from a remote office near their home.
Remote Office Centers lease offices, internet and phone systems to workers from different companies in shared centers located near where people live, so that workers can essentially have an office down the street.
ROCs are fairly new, but can be found in many cities by searching the internet for "Remote Office Centers" in quotes.
It would be great to see the gov't providing tax incentives for companies that supported remote work options for employees. The savings in gas, and roadway projects would more than offset the cost of the tax incentives.
As if pursuing my degree in financial mathematics wasn't looking grim enough already. I'm used to getting screwed in the bedroom, but now I have to take it in the office, too? I suppose I should apply for a rascal scooter now, before the rush. God knows I'm not going to be able to walk after all of this.
On another note, is ANY industry actually looking up these days?
@Quantrepreneur: Enrollment in graduate engineering and similar degrees always go up in hard economic times. Perhaps that shows where people think the jobs that actually matter are as opposed to the jobs for people who care only about money are.
@ZoeBlack: shows where actual knowledge tied to actually making something is, and that people value it more when the fluffernutter stuff goes horribly awry (financial crack peddlers selling overly leveraged slices of big poopy pile house of cards tower of worthless mortgages, i'm looking at u)
@IndianSlipper: Word on the street is that even pornography is being hard hit in these times of woe. If you consider how many people are willing to put on a show for free on sites like xtube, it's no wonder the porn studios can't sell so much of their generic wares for $40 a DVD.
