    Every week was once fleet week in downtown San Diego.


    Then the sailors and marines started wearing civvies on shore leave. Then the theaters, tattoo parlors, etc. were torn down, zoned out.


    Don't know whether they hang out down there any more, since it was "improved".

    This type of nitpicking is usually beneath me, but the soldiers' feet are so far apart I would say they are "at ease" rather than "at attention." Getty's going to force a lot of news outlets to run stupid corrections tomorrow.


    Unless everything I learned about the military from the movies is wrong.
