    Some of those drunken cheers will be from this side of the Atlantic on that happy day when the grocer's daughter finally dies from being an evil bitch. As for Harper, he's an asshole. One of the saddest moments in Canadian history was when Obama visited Ottawa and stood beside Stephen Harper. #foreignaffairs

    back back in the day, before i sold out for an income that would afford me a reasonable mortgage and the occasional supersized value meal, I used to be an idealistic young political sort, about to graduate from an nyc policy school. I lobbed in a call to John Baird, who had been my local member of parliament before i moved to Ammurika. He was little more than a none-too-bright backbencher at the time. i suppose i was looking for insight or an 'informational interview' or a job, or a lead, or something. He actually called me back himself, being a lowly backbencher and all at the time, but did so at 6:50 am on a Friday.

    Bastard.

    I ended up staying in NYC another 4 or 5 years after that. Thanks for being a twit John Baird!! #foreignaffairs

    @Artur Van Asinine: The best part? Ottawa and NY are in the same time zone. Although my Uncle taught John Baird in high school, and based on his anecdotes, I would guess there's no expectation that Baird would know that.
    I'll shut up now before I further perpetuate the idea that all Canadians know each other. #foreignaffairs

    What I find fascinating, scary and sickening, is that John Baird, who is described as Harper's right hand man, enforcer and closest confidant, is a big homo. This Conservative party is the most homophobic, hateful group, who wanted to amend/dismantle gay marriage in Canada, and Baird stands by and says nothing. Yes, America, we have Republican closet cases too. #foreignaffairs

    Did you also know Harper wears tonnes of pancake makeup, eyeliner, and has plastic hair (from over application of hairspray)... A friend was at an Ottawa reception of somekind recently--apparently he also has the handshake/charisma of a dead fish. So disillusioned with the state of politics back home these little tidbits fill me with gleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......

    @KikiCanuck: What's sad about this picture is that it isn't even a parody. Our Prime Minister actually posed next to a fireplace holding a KITTY in order to appear more likable. And I'm sure, once they were done shooting this nauseating scene, he unhinged his lower jaw and devoured the kitten whole, like the reptilian Visitor he is. #foreignaffairs

    the un-cropped version would, tragically, show us the cat's crossed eyes and out-sprung tongue.

    Guess that'll spell the end of Stephen "JP" Harper's post PM career plan of shooting a pilot with NBC.

    @deepey: Instead of human skin grafts, he uses fuzzy blue sweaters and kittehs to obfuscate the public and mask his reptilian underlayer. Also, the sweaters keep him warm in situations where crawling under a sun-lamp for valuable thermal energy would blow his cover. #foreignaffairs
