    Some of those drunken cheers will be from this side of the Atlantic on that happy day when the grocer's daughter finally dies from being an evil bitch. As for Harper, he's an asshole. One of the saddest moments in Canadian history was when Obama visited Ottawa and stood beside Stephen Harper. #foreignaffairs

    What I find fascinating, scary and sickening, is that John Baird, who is described as Harper's right hand man, enforcer and closest confidant, is a big homo. This Conservative party is the most homophobic, hateful group, who wanted to amend/dismantle gay marriage in Canada, and Baird stands by and says nothing. Yes, America, we have Republican closet cases too. #foreignaffairs

    Did you also know Harper wears tonnes of pancake makeup, eyeliner, and has plastic hair (from over application of hairspray)... A friend was at an Ottawa reception of somekind recently--apparently he also has the handshake/charisma of a dead fish. So disillusioned with the state of politics back home these little tidbits fill me with gleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......

    She's part of a mostly Republican group of legislators who compromised national security secrets a while ago during the Bush years. This story's been floating around vis a vis a whistleblower for a while now, and the AC took this bite out of it.

    Anyway, I read about this on Rawstory.com about a month ago. They had some pretty thorough coverage. Bradblog was all over this too: [www.bradblog.com]

    There is only one reason why the American Conservative cares about this story: Chicago. This is simply part of on an ongoing campaign to make Chicago synonymous with corruption and illegality. Obviously, there is a lot of corruption in Chicago, but the right has focussed on anything they can tie to Chicago since Obama became President. It's the new "Taxachusetts".

    Sibel Edmonds is one of the original 9/11 "Truthers" and widely considered to be totally nuts.

    American Conservative is really a paleoconservative publication (NOT mainstream conservative), which is as strongly anti-war as many on the left.

    It's also a haven for some of the most noxious bigots, conspiracy kooks, xenophobes, creationists and general creeps out there.

    @The One: Brad Friedman, who has promoted this story, but HARD, sees his site as a balance to the Drudge Report, too. I'm not sure how much he believes it, but I think Brad loves to stir shit up, and the Edmonds story certainly could do that.
