A military vehicle in Fort Hood, Texas, overturned at a flooded crossing on Thursday, killing three soldiers and leaving another six missing. Three other soldiers were successfully rescued and are in stable condition, KXAN reports.
A Fort Hood, Texas soldier was found dead in the yard outside of his apartment today, the military base confirmed. The as-yet unidentified man was part of a group of 87 soldiers in isolation following their return to the U.S. from West Africa Jan. 7.

Witnesses and relatives of the soldiers wounded at the Fort Hood shooting say Spec. Ivan A. Lopez's fury was caused by a dispute over paperwork. Lopez apparently became angry after asking human resources for a leave-of-absence application but was told to come back the next day.
According to Army Secretary John McHugh, Spec. Ivan Lopez, the gunman who killed three people at Fort Hood on Wednesday before killing himself, "had a clean record" prior to the shooting. McHugh also confirmed that Lopez had been deployed in Iraq but said he did not see combat.
