There's some confusion out there about what chara Jenkins is supposed to play... I read elsewhere it was the guru-esque older texan dude who she befriends in an ashram, not the sexy sexy Brazilian who she hooks up with?

Which makes much more sense, methinks.

And I only am aware of all this because I finally caved to various pressures and read the damn thing a couple of weeks ago.

I don't guess that disappointing premiere has anything to do with the fact that "Sit Down and Shut Up" looks excruciatingly bad and that the "edgy" animation style looks really dated.

Dan Brown hasn't published anything in six years, so you just know he's been putting a lot of work into that new novel he's been writing, Faster Than The Speed of Love.

Either that, or he's been swimming in a big vault full of middle America's money, like Scrooge McDuck.

@Sproing: I think that has a corollary in the Oprah Winfrey Book Club.

Confession time. I recently read Angels & Demons and thoroughly enjoyed its mindlessness. But only because it helped with my Ewan MacGregor/priest fantasies.

@contradicto: Of course you enjoyed it. That's because his books are fun to read!

He's a horrible writer, prose-wise. And the "ideas" behind his stories are pure horseshit. But his plots are like a really good ride a Disney World ... you just need to turn off your brain and go "whee!"

@MisterHippity: It helps if you listen to them, instead of reading and trying to hold back from using a red pen.
