    "Rigorous and empirical thought"?!?!? Dirt-Dobber Lou doesn't get to utter those words, understand? Hey, Lou, make yourself at home with phrases more fitting your style: invective spewing, fanning the flames of supernova-sized fireballs of ignorance, things along those lines.

    And as far as climate change goes, Dirt-Dobber, after that last blast of bombast (Has anyone ever seen 2:52 feel more like an eternity? I felt like I had booked passage on the Edmond Fitzgerald, for god's sake!), the polar ice caps don't stand a chance. Who gave you the idea that anyone cares about what you think and where you're going?

    You mentioned something about engaging in constructive problem solving, a near-impossible objective when you, sir, embody the problem. Do the honorable thing: go fall on your sword. And if you don't have the decency to do that, just put on that nice pointy hat, you know, the one that fits you so snugly. Now go sit on the newspapers we put on the floor in the corner. And try not to make an even bigger mess of things than you already have... #loudobbs

    I need him to continue to tackle such burning questions as "Was the Ft. Hood shooting the BIGGEST TERROR ATTACK SINCE 9/11?!?!" and "Mexico or China, which group of non-Aryans will DESTROY AMERICA FIRST?!?!?".

    @Cicada: If he moves to FOX (and face it, where else is he going?), he'll be well positioned to investigate that age-old mystery: did Glenn Beck rape and murder a young girl in 1990? Because it keeps me up at night and I really need an answer to that question. You know, since Beck won't deny it and all.

    I doubt that Lou will get to the bottom of the question though, since I have it on good authority that he supplied the rohypnol that Glenn used to sedate that poor girl. #loudobbs

    @Cicada: It gets worse, Cicada. In 1962, a young co-ed at Dickinson College named Fawn Leibowitz died mysteriously- her fiancè was distraught- yet Beck has never denied that his father dismembered that poor girl and buried her in a shallow grave. Did young Glenn help? Does murder run in the Beck family? The stonewalling speaks volumes, I think. #loudobbs

    "Winds of Change", and references to the "last six months" seem pretty clear dog-whistles that it's Obama he loathes. And his grandiose description of how he wants to be a "leader" highly indicates to me that it's not FOX he'll be headed to. He will align with one of a dozen right-wing "think-tanks" who would love to have and fund him, and join the operation to make Obama a one-term President.

    But what a pompous ass. Released from his contract or not, such a rapid departure smells of burnt bridges, and he's so high on himself he doesn't care. I don't think he'll return to newsreading, even at Faux. He's on a mission to save us now from dusky interlopers.. everywhere. #loudobbs

    @Gawkerati: CNN tilts to the left? You're kidding. What anywhere else in the world would be considered center-right at most gets considered "left" here. Meanwhile, yes, MSNBC skews mildly left in terms of its overall editorial viewpoint. But neither even approaches the level of totally ideologically-driven propaganda at which Fox News consistently operates.

    However, even that is beside the point, really. Because my problem with Fox isn't that it's conservative. They have every right to be as conservative as they like, if they'd only be honest about it. What they don't have a right to do is to consistently misrepresent opinion as fact, misreport events, and create news, while pretending to be a "fair and balanced" source of information. #keitholbermann

    @MissNormaDesmond: Totally agree. And keep in mind that both Shuster and Matthews routinely interview the most insane far right assholes as people having legitimate political opinions. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you former Bush/Cheney bag man and total nutcase Frank Gaffney, who famously said this year that Saddam Hussein was behind the Oklahoma City bombing. There is no corollary to that on the left, none. That's just insane.

    @Mediahohoho: I've never seen Olbermann cry when discussing republicans, the way I see Beck cry when discussing Obama. I feel like crying every time that "person of color" John Boehner opens his mouth.
    People can call MSNBC "left leaning" but they regularly give Pat Buchanan airtime for his crazy old time republican nonsense, and Joe Scarborough (un)Fair his own show. The best that Fox could do was let Alan Colmes meekly defend the left from time to time. #keitholbermann
