    Yes but that school is in Washington Heights. You have to pay people six figures to trudge that far uptown every day.

    @misslinda:

    Nah -- they were probably all already part of the "creative underclass" who make way uptown fabulous.
    In addition to now finally earning an unembarrassing salary, they can walk to work.

    @City_Dater: I thought the "creative underclass" was safely tucked away in Brooklyn and Washington Heights was for people who got priced out of the real estate market but wanted to desperately pretend like they still lived in Manhattan. Before you ask, no, I have no idea what Inwood is for.

    If it's really Opposite Year, I should be rich, thin, and happy any minute now. Bring it on.

    They're making half of what I make to work 1/3 of the time and summers off? That J.D. is looking awfully stupid now. Mothers, don't let your children grow up to be lawyers.

    @BxgrlJeri: But would you really be happy teaching kids how to do the Hokey-Pokey?

    @BxgrlJeri: I really wish the "summers off" meme would just die already. My parents took two weeks at the beginning and then spent the rest of the summer working on lesson plans and taking supplemental college courses so they could be decent educators.

    They were, of course, paid squat for it, if it makes you feel better.
