I know everyone on Jez seems to seriously hate Glambert, but I seem to have drank the kool-aid on this one, guys. I thought his performance last night was really interesting and fun, and honestly, I think he's right... Girls have been writhing all over their back up dancers for forever and a day. Does this make it right? Not exactly, but he's got a point that it makes people uncomfortable when guys do it.
Honestly, I just think he's ridiculous and hot. The end.
@Pope John Peeps II: 1.) Ugh. Sorry. I go through most links through Jez. Apologies.
2.) I like him. You dislike him. Just felt like I'd stick up for what I consider a pretty and talented man. It's cool. =)
He was so much less interesting in his performance last night than he ever was on Idol. Too choreographed, too overproduced; he looked like he was swallowed up by the choreography and the spectacle, while if they'd just allowed him to strut around the stage on his own, he'd have come off a lot better (and could have focused more on the singing). Whoever thought that thing up should be fired.
He may have been hitting notes but not the right ones. Most of them were sour and eventually he pulled some of them up to sort of right. It'd be nice if singers today actually knew how to sing.
@onebadclam: See, straight men have women to keep them in check. But what's holding the gays back from ridiculous tackiness? I'm afraid the answer is a terrifying: "nothing".
It's as if Jonathon Larson lived to write The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein, and got Shirley Bassey to play Froederick after an all-night helium bender.
I can take massive overhype, as long as the product can actually deliver. His singing sucked. Does he have anything else to offer?
Next year, he and Madonna will perform a duet of "Respect Yourself," while Lady Gaga fucks him in the ass and he pees in the mouths of Clay Gayken and Kelly Pickler. I sooooo can't wait.
I cant wait for my mom to call me again and say "so... didja know that adam lambert is jewish? do you know him? he is sooo cute and talented..." just like any jewish mother hoping her daughter finds herself a mench.
@If_I_Had_a_Poodle: Yes, with his horrendous buzzsaw voice and sour off-key notes, he's going for the big shock of "why in the world was this person on a singing competition?"

Finally someone manages to explain why American Apparel's hideous 80's revival has managed to gain traction.
