    Oh, I can just hear Bushie thinking, "Oh, they just gave 'em a little corn. The maize, right? It's not like they really needed it to like live. We’ll leave ‘em out the proclamation. And besides the settlers gave the Indians stuff too, shiny beads and baubles and things. You know, trinkets worth a whole peppercorn or such. What? Huh? Oh well, they probably would've gotten syphilis anyway."

    Jennifer Senior fawned breathlessly over Hillary's brilliant campaign when it appeared she'd be the nominee (and, of course, Hil's campaign turned out to be a disaster). No one is better than Senior at gushing over the brilliance of the Democratic star of the moment.

    He's a poor speaker, who always uses the same inflections and gestures, and uh uh uh no matter what the subject; he's a celebsident who does no real work and his message might work for campaigning, but it doesn't work on the job of being president. He delegates to questionable freaks like Geithner and Summers, and even Rom doesn't know his position on health care reform. All talk, no action. Empty suit.

    If they're so savvy, why did they allow that fat fuck Larry Summers to blather away on Meet the Press yesterday? Undermining healthcare reform, calling for higher taxes on the middle class, and justifying Wall Street's greed and venality. Why is Jabba the Hut still there?

    At least weird-looking Ray LaHood was assuring us that Cash for Clunkers would fulfill its orders.

    My column on Tu B'Shevat in our synagogue's newsletter got a 41, grade level 9 from Writing Tester.


    A contract I wrote for investment management services got an 18, grade level 13.


    A brief I wrote for district court got a 31, grade level 10. I credit LawProse for that last one!
