By waiting in line, these people are demonstrating more perseverence than their idol brought to the actual task of governing. Who in their right mind would actually vote for someone who bailed on the biggest job she was ever elected to in order to go on a book tour and do some talk shows? Sarah Palin has no interest in doing any actual work; can we all just concede that she's auditioned for, and gotten, her dream job: just another ignorant Republican Christianist blowhard and leave it at that?

Can we end the exploitation of people waiting in line? I really don't want to have to wait in a line and worry about some smart-ass blogger shoving a mic in my face. I don't really care what they are waiting in line for. Let people wait without having someone else's political agenda shoved in their faces.

@Rachael Jones: Why? Is there something about standing in line that saps brain cells? It's easy enough not to talk to someone with a camera and a microphone, you simply don't say anything. Also, what exactly was smart-assed about this guy? I thought he was pretty respectful; these people dug their own rhetorical holes.

@Karlifornia: yeah it doesn't work that way. Both sides have people who are stupid. Odds are it's pretty even distribution. Saying one side has more stupid people then the other is just well stupid.

In fact I would be willing to bet that majority of people who voted for either side have no idea on what the issues are.

@Karlifornia: you are not helping our side look good.

Yes there are people who are against gay marriage and stem cell research (although you do realize that it is not illegal to do stem cell research it is just you can't get government funding for it. Which is ok with me because all the advancements in stem cell research have come from the private sector and have done with non embryonic stem cells, Oh and that's another thing it is only embryonic stem cell research that doesn't get government money.) But those people are not the majority of their side.

Just like there are people on our side (I assume you are a democrat or at the very least liberal) who scream about all sorts of crazy things that are just as insane as voting against gay marriage and what not.

Both sides have an equal number of idiots who are able to scream at the top of their lungs and those people are probably the majority of the party.

If you don't know people like this then that person is you.

@Karlifornia: here you go more people who voted even though they know nothing about what was going on.

I have seen the whole movie and it is pretty bad but this segment does stand out. I blame the media partially for this because you can tell what stories got more attention then the actual issues and policies of the candidates.

@Lincolnsbeard33: I won't get into a discussion about the intelligence of Palin supporters vs. Obama supporters. (I'd put my money on Obama supporters being on average more intelligent than Palin supporters, if ever such an improbable study were conducted, notwithstanding your YouTube evidence to the contrary ).

But, you're wrong on stem cells. (1) It is not illegal to do stem cell research, especially now that the "ban" has been lifted by the Obama administration. Government funding of embryonic stem cell research during the Bush administration was restricted to a specific set of embryonic stem cell lines. Federally-subsidized experiments could be and were conducted on those lines during the Bush Adminstration. The research was never illegal. It is important to distinguish between stem cells, in general, and embryonic stem cells. Federal funding was not restricted for research on non-embryonic stem cells. Furthermore, funding by state governments were not subject to the federal requirements of the Bush administration. (2) There were several high-profile experiments using adult stem-cells in recent years. Stem-cells exist in adults but typically lack the pluripotency of embryonic stem-cells. The research that you are probably familiar with relates to inducing pluripotent stem cells from adult cells - e.g. skin cells. The methods to induce these cells are inefficient and typically inject extraneous genetic material into the resulting cell. The jury is still out as to whether the pluripotency of adult stem cells match that of embryonic stem cells and whether the former is as versatile, in general. Embryonic stem cells are still considered superior. (3) Much of the research actually occurred outside of this country. The first successful experiment to induce a pluripotent stem cell occurred in Japan, for example. In this country, much of the research into stem cells was funded, during the Bush administration, and is still funded through grants from government agencies like the NIH and the NSF and from state governments. If you look through the literature regarding induced pluripotent stem cells, in particular, you'll likely find that most of the research was funded via grants from the NSF or NIH. Like it or not, while the private sector undoubtedly plays a significant role, pure (non-commercial, non-practical) scientific research - like stem cell research - tends to occur in academia with government grants.

@atlasfugged: hmm I didn't realize that they had lifted the ban on funding stem cell research. Sweet. Anyhow I am not going to get into an disscusion on where the best research for stem cells comes from as this topic has really nothing to do with that.

As for the Obama supporters I would say they are even if anything the Obama supporters have the edge on stupidity seeing as Obama won with a large majority of the votes. Meaning that he got a larger portion of the stupid population.

I mean it's just simple numbers if you were to say about 75% of the population is stupid or at the very least knows nothing about politics then seeing as he won with a large majority.... well you see where I am going.

This is extremely unsurprising. Dumb sheep blindly talking nonsense about their anointed jester...obviously. Who else would actually show up? I'd like to hear from some actual thinking people, not sycophantic dolts, (if they exist) who believe Sarah Palin to be the next best thing. Otherwise it's just a matter of saying the 2012 election will be decided by her mentally-stressed base.

A suggestion - if you are going to be for or against a particular candidate, make sure you know enough about their policies to make an informed decision. Saying that you don't like someone just because you don't like them is not a real reason to not like them. I cringed whenever the guy asked the supporters why they liked Palin, and they had no answers. "I think she'll be good for the county"? Why would she be good for the country? Give me an actual reason, not just that you think something.

Y'all want to keep the beauty queen candidate out of the White House? Make a commitment to alternative energy and conservation.

Her consistent and rhetorical bleetings--always on que!--about drilling for oil in Alaska points to the fact that Big Oil would be her financial backer in any future run for office. If our over consumption of fossil fuels falls over the next 3 years she'd be hard pressed to finance a run for a position as judge of a moose chili cook-off.

If they meant natural gas they would have specifically said natural gas and sadly enough, I know people that have thought you can just drill for gasoline.
