You'll recall that the makeover of the hotel included the creation of what was supposed to be the hippest, most exclusive-est hangout in town. But in a single night, the hotel bar, according to a reveler, was betrayed by the presence of: 1. Cuba Gooding, Jr., being "super-friendly." 2. Tori Spelling, "in bad red lipstick," at a side table. 3. Mandy Moore, "looking confused and a little chubby at the center table getting no attention and pouting." Yes, that is basically one Lindsay Lohan short of the worst bar we've ever seen.

<![CDATA[The Hottest Women in Fashion]]> IMG_2173_gloss.jpgThough they wanted lotsa jewels and stuff, backyards with swimming pools, bar with stools, fancy foods, lobster, sushi, gear, Versace, Gucci, crazy Lucci, the ladies who gathered atop Gramercy Park Hotel's rooftop garden last night to celebrate Men.Style.com's list of Hottest 25 Women of Fashion instead had to make do with free cocktails, Parliaments and little caviar blinis. We sent the sweet Nikola Tamindzic.

Many of the 25 women to be honored were there, as well as an abundance of the kind of dorky/cool/queeny gays who dictate what is fashionable. On the list: Annelise Peterson, Bonnie Morrison, Eleanor Ylvisaker, Ali Wise, and a bunch of chicks we haven't heard of but are, you know, pretty.

Fashion legend Robert Burke, a short bald bespectacled gentleman, was there. Barney's Gene Pressman chatted with Men.style.com's EIC Dirk Standen [Ed. Note: So hot. So smoking hot.] and of course Derek Blasberg worked the room like it was a gigantic udder and he the milkmaid. Speaking of gigantic udders, Julia Allison, appropriately pushed up, was also to be seen, on the prowl for the solitary single straight.

Now the whole project of having a bunch of dudes, straight and gay, within the fashion industry voting to include women who are also in the fashion industry and potentially who could dispense favors and kickbacks to the judges is one fraught with potential conflicts of interest. Wait, what? We're surprised by horse-trading and casting couches? So what if a couple of girls get their pretty picture taken and then a couple of extra gays get flown to the shows in Milan?

<![CDATA[Gramercy Park Hotel Roof Club: An Eden Without Arden?]]> Since Urbandaddy makes no sense to us, we skimmed their mailing about the Gramercy Park Hotel's Private Rooftop Club with an admixture of confusion and apathy.

There's a new girl in town. And by girl, we mean spot. And by spot, we mean private members-only rooftop lounge, opening this week. In case you haven't made her acquaintance, it's the new Gramercy Park Hotel Private Roof Club and Garden. Although she's still gun-shy for press at this stage, we bring you a sneak peek

What follows is a description of ivy trellises, cocktails and a club you can't get into. (Well, you probably can.) Depending on whether your tendencies skew toward elitism or democracy, this either makes you want in more or want in less. Either way, you're not alone.

An early activity report mentions, "Rachel Zoe is in love with the place... On Tuesday, [for] the afterparty for Anthony Hopkins/Ryan Gosling's Fracture - about 200+ people - there was a very tight door so those people who weren't on the original list (including a hippy-headed socialite and a seminal fashion photographer) had a hard time getting in."

Now despite the seemingly constant presence of Rachel Zoe, we're definitely interested in anything that gives Arden Wohl a hard time.
