I'm going to say that Bride's will become the only wedding book since that's the oldest and best known, so goodbye to Elegant Bride and Modern Bride.
Men's Vogue doesn't have a prayer and I think Teen Vogue is right behind it.
Cookie going quarterly is a good call. I don't think Lucky is going anywhere. On a related note, close down some of that golf crap and bring back Domino goddamn it.
Agree that Allure is on the way out. Once your editors start sleeping with Kiefer Sutherland there's nowhere to go but down.
Your Prom
Elegant Bride
...and Details all go by Feb 1st 2010.
I figure the prom and Bridal mags have to die nowish or remain active until June. And one of those men's magazines have got to go, but it seems nothing associated with the name "Vogue" is allowed to retire.
Men's Vogue is dead but not buried. I think the announcement will come in December (because they don't want to carry the already micro staff into the New Year).
My second choice is one of the bridal magazines. Ad revenue is down for all of them. Elegant Bride will be gone in March.
Gourmet has been hit harder in ad revenue than Bon Appetit and is vulnerable.
@smithhimself: Men's Vogue already ceased print publication in 2008 and it's been a solely web-based enterprise since. I remember this because I went to that last Men's Vogue launch party in L.A. (Viggo Mortensen on the cover?!) and laughed until I cried once I read Christopher Hitchens' essay on snoring inside the book. Or am I drunk/mis-remembering?
@LavishChic: If you get every one of those right, Nick should have to make you pancakes which you can then eat off the naked body of the Gawker editor of your choice.
Cookie mag (seriously? Cookie magazine???...maybe I misunderstood and it's about vags and not cookies.) Done in November 2009.
Men's mag, done by January 2010. The days of budding 13 yr old homosexuals buying Men's, Men's Fitness, Men's workout, GQ, to look at hot naked boys is over thanks to the internet!
