This is actually quite hilarious. Matt is walking around an empty house, going from room to room and describing it as, "This room used to have chairs and sofas and rugs." Then he opens the door to an empty closet and says, completely straight-faced, "This used to have clothes in it."

Strangely enough, a few years ago I deciphered a Courtney Love post (I also speak jive) where she speculated that Bin Laden was probably heavily on drugs when he dreamed up the scheme. I found the idea stangely compelling.. he has access to opium and heroin. And what else are you going to do in a cave all day? Don't know why, but even crazy people make sense sometimes, and her idea that Bin Laden is on heavy narcotics rang a gong for me.

@Baroness: first, i peed a little at "i also speak jive"but the reasons why this is highly improbable is because it is widely believed that OBL has liver of kidney problems, which if he was on opiates, he would be dead by now, and also that he is a fundamentalist muslim, and thus does not take any drugs which cloud the mind.

@SugitaAlcimede: I hear you, but how do we know any of this? Opium and even heroin are organic substances.. one doesn't just die of smoking opium, even if he had this condition. And he was dreaming up 9/11 a long time before, one imagines. Beck into the 90's.

Not disagreeing, just mistrustful of info fed to us by the people who so royally fucked up- no, gave up- trying to capture the murderous bastard who so harmed a city I love deeply. All the tosh about him on death's door because of "kidney problems"- it's never been proven. We know nothing.

I still want vengeance though. The Taliban have officially taken over a chunk of Pakistan, I read today. Fancy that.

Isn't life all about trying to find your own answers? People who fall prey to

cults don't seem to realize that life isn't always supposed so super easy to

figure out. Sometimes you DON'T have answers - that's how you learn! Gain

wisdom! Evolve!

@LucilleMcGillicuddy: That is not the only way people are pulled into cults. Often they have other reasons, such as a feeling of not fitting into mainstream society, or simply boredom. You should read Murakami's Underground, especially the second part.

I only knew/know 5 Psychiatrists.

1) Is really depressed and sleeps on his office couch

2) Surfs some of the biggest waves in the non jet ski world

3) Chucked the insanity to make babies

4) Sees one patient every 10 minutes and spends 7 of those 10 writing prescriptions.

5) Did his residency in psychiatry *after* being completely paralyzed by polio and was one of the last people to know what really happened to Marilyn since he took the knowledge that Dr. Greenson passed to him to his grave.

None of them hypnotized or drugged people into terrorist acts.
