    I just checked the wire, and I saw bylines. So not all AP reporters are doing this. I'm guessing not all of them are union, though? Maybe they are.

    Well, this is dumb. If they want to be subversive, they should replace their bylines with childish noms de plume like Dick Hertz and Ivana Hardman.

    To up the ante, they ought to omit one specific consonant, say "q" or "x." Then, when they really want to put the screws on, they should omit one of the big boys: b, d, p, t, etc.

    I used to edit a local paper, where much of my job involved combing the wires,and I can't name anyone other than Ron Fournier.


    The thought of Ron Fournier sneaking under the radar is a chilly thought indeed.
