I can't believe I'm saying this, but part of me was waiting for the NYPost response. It was always going to be ridiculous, dramatic & insane. Why do I enjoy that?
For what it's worth, I'm often disappointed by justice system, but I also believe in it. I can't imagine that Holder & the Obama Admin would have ever made this move unless they felt they could win in a legitimate, legally substantiated way. Call me naive, but there are too many well-educated lawyers in this admin - including Obama - to convince me otherwise.
Regardless, assuming - which I am - they're fucking guilty & not just raving lunatics who actually want credit for (there are not really words) what happened that day, I want to seem them convicted legitimately & face the consequences. Which hopefully will be getting attacked by other inmates in whatever prison they're put in. Or execution.
But on point on story, in the next years, I can't wait to see if the NY Post goes all "NYers can face anything" or the "Terrorists shouldn't be brought back to the city they attacked." Personally, I feel & hope they go the former. #headlines
Lest we forget the uproar over "The Simpsons" Brazil episode, where Homer gets kidnapped and little orphan Ronaldo is attacked by monkeys ("I am like sugar to them!"). No sense of humor, that country.
Brazil, as a nation, is incomparably conspiratorial and petulant when it comes to the most mild criticism or even simple observation of their national problems (of which there are many).
Last year my work took me to Sao Paulo about once a month for almost a full year, and it was interesting to say the least.
Makes me long for the pot candy stores in NY back in the 80's. A window display that held a couple of rancid YooHoos, shelves that held several packs of gum and packages of plantain chips, and a line out the door, especially on weekends.
lame. i went backpacking down there in the spring and you can get coke in just about any backwater bar or on the street for $8 or less. the guardian should have called this story "some asshole who works for us went on vacation."
@mfnher: But all they want to do is talk to you they've had such a hard day at work you know and there's nothing like heading out with your friends and trying to feel good you know shake the dust off and just live life LIFE oh man have you ever really lived life once when I was in high school me and Rebecca Molloy got caught out in a thunderstorm and we took shelter at the foot of an old tree near the creek and then she turned to me and kissed me oh it was amazing and I felt so alive LIFE wow you look a little bit like Rebecca and I'd love to buy you a drink don't worry once you get to know me you'll see that I'm full of LIFE
