You had to love Uncle Bill's sneering when he said the names of the New Yorker people:
"Hendrick HERTZBERG (JEW), David REMNICK (JEW)"
"Well now you know all you need to know about the New Yorker (IT'S RUN BY THE JEWISH LIBERAL ELITE WHO FUND THE GAY SECULAR FASCISTS' TAKEOVER OF REAL AMERICA)"

    What a ridiculous asshole.

Hertzberg's piece on Prop 8 is very good:

O'Reilly is for five-year-olds, and it says all you need to know about cable news that he gets such high ratings.

I love Hendrick's entire demeanour throughout this segment, as though the guy is a complete fucking lunatic.

    I'd like to do him.

Also, Bill O'Reilly really, really needs someone to hurt him. Can we set JA upon him? She can bray him into some kind of breakdown.

Wow. That is brilliant. It incapsulates everything I love about the New Yorker and Hendrik Hertzberg while exposing the incredibly vacuous inanity and stupidity of the entire fucking conservative bowel movement that started with Newt and ended with George "Makaka" Allen, as narrated by the all-time king of douchebag retardation, Bill O'Reilly.

If the New Yorker ran that as an add on MSNBC, its circulation would go up 20% within a week. It's a pricey ad buy, but totally worth it in any ROI scenario.

Do guys like O' Reilly not have real targets anymore? Next they'll be crying over fictional characters like Phillip Spaudling.

What's most notable about this is that, even in O'Reilly's heavily-edited version of events, it's pretty clear that Hertzberg quoted Gingrich accurately. Media Matters transcribed the whole exchange, start-to-finish, from the show, in which it's very clear that Gingrich wasn't talking about one isolated incident of vandalism (in which case, he would have said something like, "there are some gay fascists who perpetrated this act"), but rather, trying to insinuate that there was a larger, more coordinated secular-gay-fascist movement:

Bill O'Reilly is living proof that we live in the greatest country on earth.

Where else could a docuhebag, shitstain that doesn't know the difference between a loofah and falafel sandwich earn a magnificent living spouting ass-vomit on national television, on a daily basis? I mean, come on...

Wait. That doesn't really say much for America, huh?

    What a country!

@bjonston: Sorry, folks, but O'Reilly is right -- Hertzberg did take the quotes out of context and he is a far-left zealot. It may not fit into your liberal world view, but it's the truth. Enjoy your weekend.

@jonasgrumby: Anyone with a thought in their head over the last eight years would be considered a far-left zealot by the poisoned Kool-Aid drinkers of the relentlessly dumb "right." But I guess what threatens O'Reilly and his defenders most about Hertzberg is that he is extremely articulate in pointing out the excesses of idealogues like Gingrich and O'Reilly. If you believe Gingrich isn't trying to gin up a phantom army of vicious gay terrorists to raise money and votes for the thoroughly discredited movement he started, and which has totally fucked up our country, you, sir, are an idiot.

@Mediahohoho: I couldn't have put it better myself. Hertzberg has a great response about the whole thing on the New Yorker site. He didn't take a fucking thing out of context, and it's O'Reilly and his assholes, actually, who are the liars.

One thing I don't get: Why don't the targets of these ambushes ever say something like, "Come to my office at 4 o'clock, I can give you twenty minutes then"?

Is there something about being in media, that you can't ever pass up a chance to extend your brand into any microphone that is even momentarily pointed in your direction?

Oh, I answered my own question, didn't I?
