I recall rewinding the episode first season of her trip to Miami.

PETA has always, in my mind, had some of the worst messaging and their use of scantily clad--at best--bimbos. seems among the worst elements of it. For example, here is their messaging matrix in its entirety:
- Animals are cute so you shouldn't kill them.
- I'm a slut and I would rather be naked than wear fur.
- You shouldn't wear fur (or eat meat, foie gras, kill bugs, etc.) either.
Um... so what? Most animals killed by humans are killed in a manner than they are killed in the wild. We are all animals. And killing other animals is natural, we might turn it into a process, but it's just as natural as us putting plans in penned of fields, covering them in pesticides and chopping them down in the fall. Sure I would prefer not to be killed and skinned, but I would also prefer not to be at work right now.
On the other hand I would still become a vegetarian Buddhist monk for life to have sex with Pam Anderson circa Bay Watch.

no, this is not how animals are killed in the wild. I would love to wear fur, as I've stated before. All of our ancestors did and my Norwegian relatives did without a doubt, or I probably wouldn't be here. I would like to see the REAL price for a fur coat if the animal was raised humanely and died humanely. This is possible. We are enlightened (should be), modern humans who do not have to warehouse animals in deplorable conditions and kill them horrifically. Not OK.
More enthusiastically I have always supported a sustainable approach. I think veganism and vegetarianism are both admirable but neither further the cause of making meat more healthy and humane as well as clothing. If these industries were more humane, we'd eat less and wear less because reflected in this would be the real cost.
Factory farmning is wrong and I don't support it in the dairy or meat choices I make so therefore I eat a lot less of those foods and I don't eat pesticides. Yes, yes, I can afford to eat organically and I do cut back on a lot of other things in order to vote with my dollars that way. It's how I choose to spend my money. Yes, I'm lucky that I can.
I don't love everything PETA does but they have moxie and get attention and for every few weirdo things they do, there is a good overall message there. I don't agree with their tactic of throwing fake blood on fur wearers; I like the non-violent and non-vandalism approach.
An ad campaign with a star-of-the-moment seems like a good call. Go, Bethenny, whoever you are. I don't care if you're old or wrinkled.
