When I heard the news, I knew I was going to get the second TOLDJA email from Ms. Finke and I certainly did. Her information could be digested better if it wasn't written in a way that makes me think she believes she is curing cancer, when she's essentially involved in "The Player", w/out that whole murder.
John, do you think the Chicago Tribune would link to a blogger if they transcribed comments before they did. I seriously doubt it. The MSM does not follow the same rules bloggers have created for themselves, why should bloggers show them the courtesy that they don't show bloggers?
@Anthony De Rosa: BTW, I realize Finke doesn't follow basic blogging etiquette herself, my comment was more about the Chicago Tribune than about Finke.
@Anthony De Rosa: Because it's the right thing to do? Also, it's not just about courtesy--it's about transparency and not passing off another's work as your own.
@John Cook: The MSM does not show courtesy to bloggers, bloggers are much better at attribution than MSM is, when it comes to giving proper attribution to blogs.
It's a HUGE deal when a blog doesn't attribute something by a MSM outlet, but rarely is it pointed out when a MSM outlet fails to give credit to a blogger, which is the norm rather than the exception.
I agree with you, it IS the right thing to do, it IS about transparency, and it IS about not passing off another's work as your own, three things that MSM often forgets when it comes to attribution for work they got through bloggers.
She loathes the idea of linking other bloggers. LOATHES it. She's the ultimate Darwinian blogger that way - in spite of her undoubtedly having benefited on more than one occasion from links from the likes of Matt Drudge.
But, but, but, but Nikki Finke is a capital J JOURNALIST not a lowly lower case blogger! Of course she is. Someone should probably ask for their money back.
Yeah - I don't particularly want a President who tweets and if you were vulnerable enough to believe it was really him, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn, I'd like to sell. #twitter
I'm so tired of (Democratic) campaigns that don't have the guts to go negative and twist the knife when they have got the goods. Whatever Plouffe did to help derail Edwards should be a point of pride for him, as I suspect it is. Anyone who refuses to educate the voters about his opponent's liabilities has failed his obligation as a candidate. #davidplouffe

"You could be just like Carolyn Keene," her mom said.
"Mom," she replied, "I could be Carolyn Keene." #twitter
