    Regardless of whether the kid gets any craziness/addiction genes from his dad, he would obviously be susceptible to inheriting a masochism gene from his mom... Really, Fear & Loathing is one of the funniest books ever written, but you'd have to be out of your fucking mind to voluntarily make your life with its author.

    I'd say that's based on a pretty limited perception of the man. Although he did live an obviously wild life, he was also known to have been a really kind, loving person to his family and friends.
