MBAs?! how about this for defining moment: our parents and teachers were hippies and we were taught to sing The Earth Is Our Mother We Must Take Care of Her while President Reagan cut the school lunch program and opened up the nuclear power plant next door and Oliver North was on trial for something scary in South America. So, we realized that the best of intentions don't buy a carton of milk and we were raised vegetarian and couldn't kill a mosquito so it's really hard to respect the drop outs and also the sell outs so we try to find a way to navigate between.

According to wiki (sorry, I know), Generation X are those born between 1960-70: eg, NO LONGER COOL. They were cool back in the early ninties, when movies were made about their scraggly long hair and polyester ironic vintage dresses, but now they have kids and are probs old and living in the burbs. There must be a newer, fresher term for those born in the 80's and 90's? Generation LOL and WTF? I don't know.

@HurtsSoGood: There are also sub-generations with their own names, such as Generation Jones, which were born between 1960 and about 1966 or so. These were the people who had to take the leavings from the rest of the Boomers, who snarfed up all the good jobs and all the good real estate and all the more easily obtained natural resources (like oil). They were the people whose first new car was likely to be something based on the Chrysler K platform. Unlike the older 2/3 of the Boomers, nothing was handed to them, and like today's college grads (their own children being among them), they had to take crappy jobs for many years before they could progress the corporate food chain.
