I'll take their self-glorifying anecdotes over the ugly seething id of internet commenters everywhere today. Lots of appreciative comments, but lots of gloating cretins who can't spell the word "Chappaquiddick" that they're gleefully rushing to invoke while the body's still warm. (Granted, it's a tough spell.) Oh, and commenters at the UK papers are relentlessly of the opinion that he was an IRA terrorist. And hey, let's trash the whole family while we're at it- did you know JFK committed adultery?

Ugly day on the Internet for me, reading so much bile and mean-spirited trash. Besides MoDo's column, that is.

@Baroness: They've only got a few days to cash in all their stored up Mary Jo Kopechne material. It's desperation. How would you feel if 40% of your jokes were about to become obsolete? Maybe 50%, if you count all of the "Teddy's a drunk" jokes.
