    And his off the record comments being broadcast, despite the anchor and reporter's lame attempts to justify, simply demonstrates a lack of professionalism and a lack of integrity.
    Newsom has been good for that city, both politically and in terms of public relations. He has his shortcomings, as do we all, but he does not deserve to be raked over the coals by this Fox News wannabe.

    @erebekah: He hasn't been too great for this city for those of us who are actual residents and remember his campaign promises and see the lack of concrete action because he's too busy jetting off to Davos to talk about his biodiesel limousine, while the unsolved murder rate skyrockets and 11 year old kids coming home from school on Muni are stabbed by psycho homeless guys.

    @ngonzogo: Isn't it funny how you Palin supporters refer to any instance in which Ms. Palin makes an ass out of her self (which is to say whenever she opens her mouth) as an ambush?

    And making the "mainstream media" the fall guy for your alleged ambush is like blaming the trees for a forest fire.

    If there is shame to go around here, Champ, take a look in the mirror...

    @Sleepyhead: With all due respect and contrition, I don't feel the least bit bad about not catching ngonzogo's sarcasm. I think it's because I have ODd on people voicing sentiments with that exact pitch/tone, and neutron microscopes couldn't find any sarcasm, irony, fill-in-the-subtext-of-your choice in those posts.

    Another casualty of the state of the republic--sarcasm has been rendered moot.

    I actually liked him with the gay stuff but he did get all obnoxious and the office affair was tacky and sad.

    I seemed to remember that as soon as Paris went on Larry King, post-jail, the thunderstorm blew over and the
    media backed off of her. I think the public saw a little glimmer of her humanity and not just a spoiled, dopey, racist heiress. I'm not defending her; just making an observation.

    Or Larry is magic.

    Britney used to be a pretty good singer, until she ruined her voice and now uses vocal sweetening on recordings and lip-syncs in public.

    Taylor Swift was never a very good singer, so she uses vocal sweetening on recordings, but proudly sings off-key in public.

    Which means we've entered an era of concurrent fake-itude and realism, and no one under 25 cares what the difference is.

    @TedSez: Really? Britney Spears had talent? I've never heard her even hit a real note. Her voice is, at best, very thin.

    Taylor Swift really should have been kept around Nashville as a very talented songwriter, but because she's so lovely, they decided to make her a star. Ladyfriend can't sing, I'll give you that.
