Dude, I don't think it's your lackadaisical marketing that's the problem. It's that you're writing the same shit that everyone else who's writing that shit is writing.

This is soooo offensive for soooo many reasons, although the title of the story is perfect. So hats off to Owen.
So basically the actual details of this putz's chosen profession bore him to tears. Sorry cupcake, but if you want to sell the product of your underheated imagination, you've got to develop the patience to send out queries and the thick skin to put up with the ensuing rejections.
And what, no agent? can't be that good, can you...so i'm thinking 'slightly published' means his college newspaper, or maybe even the company softball team's newsletter. Sorry, sweetness, but there's a lot of us out there with the same or greater 'slightly published' chops who even work in publishing, and none of us gets to be that pretentious, so neither do you.
But really, an MFA in creative fiction, and that ad (i checked it out on CL, too) is the best he can do? Now i know why my author friends think MFAs in creative writing are hilarious.
ps. Wouldn't it be funny if we all flagged it? CL takes things down in seconds if they're flagged.

1. Idea
2. Something to write it down with
3. If need be, booze.
Do the first three and then worry about the rest.

I don't think I have read a sadder sentence in the English language since weeping through Mitch Albom's "The Five People You Meet in Heaven."

The meat, the bread and butter of a Craigslist ad. And also, the get-out free clause whereupon the unfortunate innocent who takes the job and 2 weeks down the line can say, ''FUCK YOU!! GO AND SHOVE YOUR SUBMISSION ENVELOPES UP YOUR ARSE AND I HOPE YOU CHOKE ON YOUR EFFING FALAFEL''
All speculative of course. I don't know the man. He could be lovely, knee-deep in falafel balls .

Oh. Harsh. I am both.
Of course, many writers aren't poets. Not that they would want to be.
