    Gerard's a decent actor.
    He's got more range than lazy-eyed Pattinson and would be our generation's Bogart if we still made those kind of movies.

    PS - Law Abiding Citizen's a good movie. The cell phone scene alone is worth the admission price. Seriously, if you listen to the detractors on this one then you're truly missing out. #gerardbutler

    RockNRolla was so hilarious and there's a sequel to boot-can't wait. I did not drink from the Kool-Aid on this guy being a star. Colin and Jude are really good actors who know nothing about picking American film parts, especially the blockbuster kind. Their best work is in British films, indie movies, or the stage They need to have a chat with George, Leo and Brad. #gerardbutler

    I'd love to see Gerard in an indie film, something with more substance than Hollywood has to offer. I absolutely loved him in Rocknrolla and 300 is legendary. Neither Jude Law or Colin Farrell had a movie as wildly loved as 300 so I don't think Gerard Butler has to worry about becoming either of those dudes. #gerardbutler

    @Jackiewsu: I think he has great potential if he took a chance on a movie that would actually showcase his acting. Not sure if that's a personal choice or he's being mislead by his handlers but his earlier work shows that he has talent. It's just unfortunate that he's gone the way of big studio movie/paycheck instead of focusing on the great parts. Not that everything should be about proving something as actor. This is a profession that you choose just as much for the creative fulfillment as you do for the fun you can get out of it but he definitely needs to start choosing on the basis of "one for them, one for me" if he wants to get taken seriously as an actor. I still have high hopes for him but we'll see if he continues to take the easy way out or if he's willing to take some real risks. #gerardbutler

    Wow. Are you bad at your job. First of all, The Awful Truth starred Cary Grant and Irene Dunne and is one of the greatest romantic comedies ever. Second, The Ugly Truth grossed $89M domestically and $170M worldwide from a $38M budget. Finally...you think The Break Up is the best romantic comedy of the decade!?! Better than Bridget Jones's Diary, Love Actually, Two Week's Notice, Tao of Steve, etc....? Clearly your viewing doesn't extend beyond Kate Hudson and Matthew McConughey movies. It wasn't even one of the better romantic comedies the year it came out. Hell, it's not very good at all.

    I saw The Break-Up with my then-boyfriend and three other couples. Afterwards, I'm pretty sure every single one of us hated ourselves for being in relationships. The fact that three of the four couples then went on to get married is nothing short of miraculous. I'd rather watch Nicholas Cage put on a bandage dress than see that again. #gerardbutler

    @Butterscotch: Yeah, maybe it's because of the Nick Hornby novel or the contemporary Brit contempt for mawkishness, but that talent show scene managed to be really moving in a way that most American movies can't pull off.     Since when was "The Breakup" the best romantic comedy of the decade? Also, I didn't think Gerry's sketches on SNL were so bad. They weren't amazing, but that's the state of SNL these days. I liked the Beauty and the Beast sketch. Girlfriend can sing. #gerardbutler

    @mattchew03: Yes. I thought that sketch was hysterical. The line about the menorah had me on the floor. I didn't think the episode as a whole was so bad, but I wasn't sure why every single sketch was a running gay joke. Didn't they already try and fail at that with Paul Rudd? #gerardbutler

    @Brian Moylan: True. Ugh, I miss the "old" SNL, and being 24 years old, I'm not even talking about the era that a lot of people here cite as the last "great" one. It just seems to have been in a steady decline since, well, a long ass time ago.

    @Brian Moylan: No one would call something hilarious if it didn't make them crack up, sourpuss. I found the Beauty and the Beast sketch legitimately hilarious, as I did the Broadway sketch when NPH hosted, and the "Lazy Sunday" digital short. The truly funny are few and far between, but it doesn't mean they're not truly funny just because they happened after 1984. #gerardbutler

    @Tattertotter: If on record you mean a Premiere interview that the magazine has no archival proof of and has been denied by himself, his reps, etc. It was completely fabricated but it pops up once or twice a year every time someone wants to insinuate he's gay either b/c they want him or b/c they think it's some sort of insult to him. Honestly, I think if this guy were gay, he would be openly gay. #gerardbutler
