Unrelated, but the other night purely for entertainment purposes like going to see circus freak show, I was watching Bill O'Reilly with the sound off and it was really creepy: he was at his little podium surrounded by two orange bleached blondes in tight outfits with cleavage showing (ostensibly his fellow reporters) and he said something, probably was something like 'I can't wait to lick your toes later,' or worse, and the two ladies started braying like mules and would not stop and HE. LOOKED. SO. PLEASED. WITH HIMSELF.
I realize Goldfarb has made himself a target, but I'm not buying this one. You don't have to pass through "gay" to get from "enchanted" to get to "unicorn."
@foofybunny: It was a silly question because it was pretentious, long, and sorta meaningless.
But that a national news network--the most watched one!--allows this idiot to invite some friend of his on TV so they can snigger and make gay jokes is pretty disgraceful.
@Richard Lawson: It was pretentious and long but it turned out to be a great question because Obama took it seriously and answered it thoughtfully. And it elicited a revealing answer. Isn't that what press conference questions are supposed to do (but almost never do)?
@Richard Lawson: Richard: these two fucking douchebags - O'Reilly and Goldberg - are American douchebags. Don't lump the rest of us non-American douchebags in with them, please.
To be fair, the question was no more inane than was all the hype about "The First 100 Days." In fact, it pretty much fit the context of the news swirl around what is, let's face it, a media driven, arbitrary nothing.

Thank you for ruining any shred of sexuality I might have been clinging to here.

Very nice prose, actually. Is all prose writing gay now?
