Well, Puja is a publicist. Maybe she can help with this?
But how do you know he's not from a Sri Lankan family?

Some might appreciate this candide-like flight of fancy:
There is a Yohan Sanmugam that noted he was starting an internship at the Adam Smith Institute in England back in August '08. He's not sure if he wants to become "sell his soul to the City," or become a spy, economist, or politician. What does selling your soul to the City mean?
But did you get that? The Adam Smith Institute? See above for the Duc de Sully and his free market heirs.

A whole lotta cultural sensitivity goin' on.
And South Pacific? It's almost like Sully's handlers are showing the world how even the world's whitest trustworthy white man is perfectly comfortable with a colorful world.
The top photo -- this is a young Henry Kissinger!

Who is representing Sully? Got the name of a PR company? Some other type of agency?

While we've got that question on hold, check it out... 16th-17th Century France had its own Sully:
[en.wikipedia.org]
The original was put in charge of the finances of France. We'd trust our money with the modern Sully wouldn't we?
This is interesting:
"Perhaps among his most famous works was the idea of a Europe composed of 15 roughly equal States, under the direction of a "Very Christian Council of Europe", charged with resolving differences and disposing of a common army. This famous "Grand Design," a Utopian plan for a Christian republic, is often cited as one of the first grand plans and ancestors for the European Union. "
This article describes an intellectual lineage that runs from Sully's "Royal Economies" to Francois Quesnay, to Adam Smith (and then to the whole free trade/single land-tax business).

Well...
Apparently the family PR guy is Alex Clemens of Barbary Coast Consulting. Per his page, Alex "has a proven track record of success working as a political aide, a community organizer, a campaign strategist, a policy wonk, a lobbyist, a mouthpiece, a private investigator, and an advocate"
Per his linkedin page: " I'm a former aide to four electeds in San Francisco and to a Clinton administration Assistant Secretary, I once worked as a private investigator for a public agency, and I'm the founder of SFUsualSuspects.com, San Francisco's political homepage."
Private investigator for a public agency? What does this mean? Which agency would this be? What did he investigate?
Seein' as he works his magic in San Francisco, and he's locked into the democratic family... is he buds with Nancy Pelosi?
If you look at the Success Stories section on the Barbary website, you'll see one that describes their work with "A nationally respected law-enforcement organization based in Washington D.C." that "seeks to win a contract from a Bay Area municipality to evaluate and provide recommendations for their Police Department."
What does this mean? Who is this nationally respected law-enforcement organization based in D.C.?

Now, about the publicist that offered then rescinded an offer for the press to come and photograph the Sully appearance at South Pacific, Philip Rinaldi...
Any relation to the Philip L. Rinaldi of what used to be Coffeyville, and Pegasus Capital, based in NYC? The guy who sits on the Board of Overseers of New Jersey Institute of Technology (where do we remember NJIT from?) and has a nice big (Ferretti?) Yacht on which he likes to entertain.
If the two Rinaldi's are related, would be pretty interesting. Check out what Yacht Rinaldi did:
"Here's my favorite example of brilliant Governance. Pegasus Capital, a private equity firm with enlightened leadership, bought Coffeyville Resources out of bankruptcy about five years ago. Coffeyville consists of an older refinery in Kansas and an adjoining fertilizer facility.
Coming out of bankruptcy, Coffeyville was out of compliance, had no Management Systems or Governance Processes and was clearly struggling.
Their new CEO, Phil Rinaldi, dedicated the money, time and personnel to fix their EHS shortcomings and develop robust governance systems. Fifteen months later they sold the company to Goldman Sachs and Kelso for an astronomical return on their investment."
Pegasus from what I remember is owned by Goldman Sachs and Kelso. Kelso has some nice solid companies in its portfolio, including a couple of waste management biggies.
Eh, who cares, it's a dead thread anyway. zzzzzzz....

Veeeery tenuous possible link between the two Rinaldi's (Yacht Rinaldi & Lincoln Center Publicist Rinaldi):
In addition to Yahoo's Bartz getting an honorary degree from NJIT, so did an architect whose company designed the Clinton library as well as New York Public Library of the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center

He's so decent it's getting to the point where I don't think we'd mind learning he crashed the plane on purpose in order to gain some notoriety just to remind the world what someone with integrity does when they have it.
