I call bullshit in the Pivster. World-class rowers, who do truly amazing things to their hearts in the course of training, might have a resting heart rate that low, but a coked-out actor? Release the medical records, or STFU.
Don't feel sorry for Katie, except for the fact she was stupid to pass up "The Dark Knight". Oh yeah, like she's too good to appear in a film that may gross 1 billion. Haven't we come a long way from "Dawson's Creek", honey?
"As far as Tom's concerned, he kept his side of the bargain by allowing Katie to concentrate on her career; now it's time for her to keep hers."
Wow is that a scary comment. "Allowing." Really? In 2009, a husband "allows" their wife to have a career? And then demands that in exchange she have another baby?
Did anyone else read that item and see how horribly, horribly sexist it is.
"A source tells British magazine Now, "Tom believes Katie needs to focus on their family again. She's had her time being 'Katie Holmes' instead of just Tom's wife, but in return she agreed to have a second child as soon as that time's over. In Tom's eyes, that's now."
This is just fucking amazingly sexist. Can you sue for divorce on the grounds of "slavery?"
Truly horrifying. I'm just happy my husband "allows" me to be me and not "x's wife". Makes me shudder. I still never even got over the whole name change but I promised I'd do it and I'm a woman of my word. But it still bugs me.
@drunkexpatwriter: She can sue for divorce for whatever she wants. But she doesn't. She's a grown woman with her own means of support (and honestly, I don't give much of a pass to women who stay with abusers -- of whatever form -- using that as an excuse), and IF she is miserable, well, that's her own fault. I certainly don't pity her.
@BankerHardcore: I agree - something tells me when they first met, Cruise and his Scientology friends handed her an outline of their first 10 years together. And apparently the next step is for them to have sex a second time.
@SaraRueful: This, I totally agree with. She is rich, she has a supportive Midwestern family. If she stays, what message does that send to her daughter? There are women who have no money who manage to make it out of bad marriages - Katie has NO excuse. Totally, totally agree with you on this.
@BookishLookish: I'm totally calling this as a scientifically-assisted matter. He gets to "come in a cup", she gets an IUI. If he had sex with either her or Nicole, I'm Mother Theresa.
Neither of you have obviously never worked with abuse victims which explains your complete ignorance. It's called the cycle of abuse. Google that shit before you go around blaming the victim. It's the ignorance of people like you that keep women of all economic standings in abusive relationships.
But frankly I have no idea whether or not Katie Holmes is in an abusive relationship, but I just thought you guys needed to wise up based on your comments.
@drunkexpatwriter: i'll probably get hated on for speaking for my people, but it was looking at Playboys when i was a kid (8 or 9) that convinced that whatever "that" was, i wanted no part of it. A hole's a hole? Nooooo, sir.
@toosnarkyforthisshirt: Oh, fuck you. That's not what I was saying at all. The women *I* have known have stayed with the prick using the excuse that they didn't have any job experience, no college degree, whatever, and thus had to stay with him for food and a place to live. That is the only excuse I've ever heard (I'm sorry, I didn't grow up around rich abused women, just poor ones) and Katie can't use it. Assuming she's even unhappy (which I said -- "IF" -- in my original post. But apparently you are too far up on your high horse to read it properly).

Here I am defending Tom Cruise. You'd think I was a fan. I am not. I'm just not a fan of sly, whispery, "anonymous sources".

How, exactly, do gay men get it up for women?
Isn't it a challenge?

I've never had anal sex with a girl, because the idea of being in a vagina gets me hard, but the idea of being in an asshole doesn't.
I can't imagine it doesn't work somewhat the same way for gay guys.
