I didn't pay too much attention to pre-election polling but if Mike had such a high approval rating, and presumably expected a comfortable margin of victory going into the race, then he wouldn't have had to pay out the ass for barely a win, right? Peter, I think your speculation that voters were turned off by the all the money is a valid one.
