    You know, if you play OK Computer and HP & the Philosopher's Stone together, a lot of the scenes sync up bizarrely with some of the lyrics.


    "I am born again" from Airbag is sung just as Dumbledore leaves Harry on the Durdsleys' doorstep before the opening credits.


    "Dry your tears/we escape/we escape" from Let Down happens just as Hagrid is leading Harry away from the Durdsleys.


    Harry and Oliver Wood banging away at Quidditch balls is in sync to the downbeats in "Electioneering".


    "Pull me out of the air crash/pull me out of the wreck" from Lucky is sung just as Harry falls off his broom catching the Golden Snitch.


    I could go on and on...TRY IT!

    @unclevanya: Because I clearly did not get enough joy out of my Wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the Moon viewings back in my college stoner days, I'm partially inclined to try this, as I own both OKC and HP&TPS... but then I say to myself, I'm an adult, puhleeze, I can't waste my time like that. Yeah, I'm a childless adult that owns HP&TPS... um, so anyway, are you pulling our legs unclevanya, or what?

    In Scotland for a week and lookee at all these UK-baed Gawker items! The first tabloid I saw had the old headline 'Ronaldo spends night in Paris".. huh huh huh get it? .. And I noticed I'll be passing Blackburn which is the town of "SuBo" and would duly file a Gawker Stalker, although it is reported Simon Cowell has her holed up in a £2m London mansion.. Anyway, back to me chippie sauce, pint and nip, wee bearns!

    Here's an Op-Ed proposal for the Times: How sending Jon + Kate to North Korea as punishment for its nuclear testing will bring Kim Jong Il's regime to its knees.

    Why are all these people complaining about grammar and pageview-whoring when what we really need to talk more about is Kate's hair? This woman's hair perhaps the most powerful and concise statement on contemporary American culture and values that I have ever seen. It's stupendous, her hair. And tragic.

    I've asked this question before and I've even tried to google it but how do these people (and others, like Little People, Big World and WorkOut etc) GET a reality show. I mean who knows them and decides, this would look good on TV. Do they submit themselves to a station. I'm not clear on who finds them and how.

    If this were the '80s, you would know Andy Borowitz as a sitcom writer who wrote for "Square Pegs" and "The Facts of Life," and especially as the guy who created "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. (And if you're wondering how someone can monetarily afford to spend his life as a print satirist, that's how.)


    His screenplay Dinner for Schmucks is reportedly in production with Austin Powers / Meet the Parents director Jay Roach and stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. So, there's that, too.
