    I gained a new appreciation for country music when I went to a bar in Nashville on karaoke night. My God do those people take music seriously. Every single person that sang was good, without exception. And they all got up on the bar and worked it like it was a stage and they were pros.

    It was impressive, compared to New York, where the best part of karaoke is the comedic aspect of it. #kanyewest

    @FitnessMadeSimple: It's like actors in LA - all of those folks that are singing karaoke in Nashville are aspiring singers. I've seen and heard some unreal singers when I've visited. I can sing decently, but would never, ever do karaoke in Nashville. #kanyewest

    This one dude...I think his name was Kenny Rose...had snakeskin boots, a cowboy hat, and a white button down with his name on the back in RHINESTONES. And he brought a mailing list with him. #kanyewest

    I caught the latter part of the show and Taylor Swift also made an aside about it, when she picked-up "Female Vocalist", but it probably wasn't on her mind, when they named her "Entertainer of the Year".

    Though it was obviously her year and for any of the other nominees to get EotY would have been prejudice against her or her music, I actually think Kanye most likely helped guarantee Miss Swift their top award.

    And Little Jimmy Dickens has been around since God was a boy. Everyone west of New York City knows who he is. He's had a career for 60 years and is in both the Grand Old Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

    @manchops: Agreed. Keith Urban is one of the best, if not best, live act I have ever seen and I've seen lots (lots of genres too). The dude lays it out there and gives it his all like I've never seen. Pure emotion and an amazing guitar player. #kanyewest

    @bboston88: Right on bboston. In fact, I'd say the dixie chicks did more for changing people's hating attitudes (or at least exposing the utter vile hypocrisy of their opinions) than a hundred bonos, stipes and pearl jams who, basically, tend to sing primarily to their own choirs. #kanyewest

    @bboston88: they do don't they? ;) Just thought i'd be an equal oppurtunity stereotyper....granted, not all country fans are angry right wingers ( I personally think that Red Headed Stranger is the OK Computer of C/W music), but c'mon. Don't be naive. The image they project, white confederate flag wavin' 'mericans is the predominant face of the industry. Didn't see too many counrty stars going against Bush.
