All that wool and the never-should-be-done tights/thick sock/flat shoe combo makes her look rather itchy.

One of the best, most moving, and perhaps the most original book I've ever read. After two years or so, I still think about it so often.

@pufflehuff: For real. I read "Never Let Me Go" a few months ago and was profoundly moved. I can't imagine Kiera Knightly being able to do it justice. The main character was such a blank canvas in many ways; I fear that KK will try to "cute" it up like she did in Pride and Prejudice.

I know - first I was so excited that there's going to be a film, and then I thought, Kiera Knightly?? Maybe not such a good idea.

@meerkat: I agree with everything everyone has said here.

I just Googled and here's what I could find. It makes me happy that I don't know anyone else in the movie:

Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky) has joined Fox Searchlight's adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's best-selling novel Never Let Me Go. She will play a teacher at the seemingly idyllic English boarding school attended by Ruth (Keira Knightley), Kathy, (Carey Mulligan), and Tommy (Andrew Garfield). The film, directed by Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) from a screenplay by Alex Garland (28 Days Later) begins filming in the U.K. today.

@Phyllis Nefler: NOOOOO not Sally Hawkins! Please don't let her do a Poppy on this... bloody hated Happy-Go-Aaargh-Save-Me-From-Her. Andrew Garfield is excellent, though, have a google of Red Riding on Channel 4.

"Never Let Me Go" had no conflict and was more or less boring and lifeless. Purrrfect for Ms. Knightly

I'll see Jason Bateman in anything, but wasn't this already the plot of Punch Drunk Love? And won't this interfere with the most important upcoming motion picture event ever, the Arrested Development movie?
