This reminds me of some emails I've sent to bosses. 'Hey hi ha ha ha everything is great - remember that health insurance you promised me a gazzilion times? Could I get some? - blah blah hooker blather.'
$450 a month for a nanny will buy you about 1.5 hours on a Monday afternoon. Also, Knickee, guys like Dov tend to have much less need for a hot massage girl than Gus in Accounting would. For future boss-sexing reference!
That's both funny and disturbing...mainly cause he's kind of grody.
I want to see some of these from the financial guys, though! Hack their emails and post them! I know they're talking about more exciting stuff than paying for nannys and massage girls!
Ugh. I don't care how hot and/or easy this Yang character is. After reading the e-mail, whatever he gets from her is definitely not worth having to put up with that. I'm sure she'll be a great mom, though!
Somewhat marginal to the topic at hand, but... I'm pretty shocked that Jez didn't redact the emails and phone numbers of the parties involved in this exchange. It's incredibly irresponsible. Regardless of whether you think these people are douchebags, they have JOBS to do, and now they can expect to be spammed and crank-called around the clock.
Sorry, Jez, I am disappointed.
I don't expect hi-falutin' standards of journalism here, but f-ing your sources over just for kicks is not only unethical but highly counterproductive.
So let me get this straight, a case involving a man who admittedly schtupps employees on the regular, jerked off during an interview with Jane magazine, appears in ads in nut-hugging tighty whities, and is the purveyor of an empire built on a seedy 1970s porno aesthetic, ultimately turns seedy itself? MIND. BLOWN.
@Unfun: @BookishLatkeish: You know I love both of you ladies (and the nutsack comment is CRACKING ME UP) but, as is my want, I am going to briefly defend Dov Charney.
I know, right?
First, it is true that American Apparel is one of the few places in its milieu (I'm thinking Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, even, like, JCrew) where you can buy a good quality tee-shirt for under 20 bucks. And it isn't -- unlike the $80 version at one of the other stores, a piece of crap made by a 5 year-old in China. So, okay, AA aggressively markets based on their labor policies, but that doesn't negate the fact that they are doing the right thing. And it means that Dov puts his money where his mouth is, profit wise, because although he is making a shit-ton of money, he's not making nearly as much as he could be.
The man is a shitbag, to be sure. I have bad dreams about what his office might smell like. But the recent cases I have seen seem to be people trying to exploit his reputation to get paid. While that might be karmically justified, it ain't right.
If this was cross-posted on Jezebel I'll be spending the rest of my day comfortably barricaded in my foxhole.

E-mail lives forever, and the ensuing hilarity is the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks, HamNo, for the early holiday cheer! You're aces, cookie.
