man, simon cowell sure does know how to change rules and rig shows he's involved in .. on AI this year he really made it clear that anyone who forgets the lyrics automatically is sent home.. well, two decent performers did indeed slip on their lyrics, yet they stayed until the next round because Simon liked 'em...
as for lil miss smiffles, i know she's 10 but she needs to learn that in this life, self-entitlement isn't always afforded to you .. does she cry whenever she doesn't get the right flavored porridge for dinner?
@lobstr: Really, a 10 year old needs to learn about this world and self-entitlement? At 10?? Gees, have you ever heard of childhood? Go read some 'Alice In Wonderland', would you. It might restore your soul back.
@Violex: yes, deary, but my childhood didn't involve getting up on stage in front of the whole world and exhibiting myself.. is that part of what you consider a normal childhood? Especially in a venue such as that, what kind of lesson is it if people cave for you if you cry and plead?
On second thought, every time I hear a British girl crying, I think of Verruca Salt. They should've had a bunch of Oompa-Loompas carry her off. And that, my friends, is good TV.
The model was a Timberlakes game some time ago when the little charmer forgot the lyrics for the Star Spangled Banner and in the greatest coaching move of all time Mo Cheeks stepped in to restore the confidence of the little girl who had lost her way. It was the best moment in basketball history! This entire sequence was scripted from that occasion, figuring the Brit audience doesn't watch NBA games.
Note in all the high dudgeon about "finding the time somewhere" for Hollie's do-over, one area off the table obviously was indicated by the lead-in to the commercial break.
@Banjo-Sea Kitten: Hmnn, what I saw was a guy who had absolutely no connection to the pregame show observing a little girl frightened out of her wits and stepping up to make it all right again. I saw that, and only that.
@Tremonius: Oh, I saw that too. I'm not implying otherwise. It was nice but he is no-nonsense, and there is a "lets get this show on the road" quality about his actions that I think makes it more touching in some way.

Nice. I also love how Mo seems a bit cranky and impatient too. Just another day in the life... and then it's game time.

Neither does the Gawker audience, apparently. They ain't the "Timberlakes."
