To allow Chris Brown to remain a nominee for this length of time since the Rihanna controversy became public knowledge was a very intentional choice on Nickelodeon's part.

To gain publicity and interest for the dead horse KCAs through the deliberate exploitation of Chris Brown's current notoriety is both shameful and reprehensible.

Right up there with only giving Salute Your Shorts two seasons.

My comment may not make sense as I'm not a child, but I'm thinking very few have really paid attention to these Kid's Choice thingies in the years Nicko has been doing them, so I'm thinking publicity stunt? Also, since I hear slime is an important factor at these things, would I pay to see Chris Brown slimed, and by slimed I mean punched so hard in the face he leaks poo water, then yes, I think he should still be a nominee and win.

@Spirit Fingers: Not true. Kids pay a huge amount of attention to these awards, and so I, for one, am thrilled. I only wish they'd strip Riri too, for setting the example to all little girls that you need to reunite with your abuser. Musically, no less.

@Wannabeer: Well, yah, my dealings with the child crowd is nonexistent, and my dealings with Nicko go back to, You Can't Do That On Television, so justly I have no idea of which I speak. I still say that if he's still left on the ballot it's a publicity stunt. I agree with you on the RiRi bit, but naw, she's still a supposed victim in this mess, even though at this point it's by choice.

Still wanting to see that punch. Doesn't have to be at this venue, but should happen, and soon.

@Spirit Fingers: I'm with you- the last thing I watched on nickelodeon was that show where kids race through the fake temple, circa 1990.

Either way though, having a pretty obvious abuser in the running for so long is a pretty obvious no go from a PR standpoint.

I'm guessing this is a hoax and Nickelodeon is still backing the batterer. The whole "let the kids decide" thing is the same BS the music industry spewed when it came to Eminem's violent homophobia and misogyny (You can't be against violent hate if dipshit kids think it's cool!). But what's odd is that Em was a cash cow for MTV and others while I don't think Chris Brown has had a top song since, like, what 2006, 2005? I remember "Run it" and that's it.
