Echidnas are spine-covered mammals that fall under the monotreme family. They lay eggs but lactate after their young hatch.

So now I'm very confused about this nymph business. Echidnas are found in Australia. Is this some sort of Australian Aborigine legend? But nymphs are figures from Greek mythology, no?

@Wrapitup: Yes, Greek mythology. They are bespelled nubile young maidens who are considered divine. As in a water or woodland nymph.

@Wrapitup: I do know that Echidna is the mythical Greek mother of a whole passel of monsters. Anyone who was a dedicated follower of Sam Raimi's, "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" would know this. Kevin Sorbo's tour de force as the demigod son of Zeus was a thing to marvel at. Even better than Arnold Schwarzenegger(or Arnold Strong/Stang as he was back then) in Hercules in New York. I knew the Echidna thing because i'm a nerd and I loved Greek mythology as a child. The other stuff i know because i smoked entirely too much weed.

Echidna are real, and don't really have anything to do with snakes or humans.

A human and a snake would be a Naga (or Yuan-ti).

@Belabras ate my dingo!: Echidna is a half-nymph half-snake in ancient Greek mythology who lived in a cave and gave birth to all of the horrible monsters in ancient Greece, so although everything you said is correct, you aren't right.

    Your nerdiness has been served.

Also, wouldn't the "Echidna" circle have to contain all of the other circles?

That's the problem with making shit up. Eventually, it gets to a point where you can't venn-diagram it.
